I was super excited to be chosen to photograph Fiona & Matt’s Wedding at the No 1 award winning wedding venue Lains Barn in Oxfordshire. I love travelling around the UK for my photography and it took a good 5 hour journey to get there, but it was certainly worth it to arrive in the beautiful rural town of Uffington.
Fiona & Matt contacted me through Fearless Photographers and I was delighted they loved my style and booked. They loved the idea of a pre wedding shoot too and made the long journey up north to Jesmond Dene House for some lovely autumn photographs around the grounds. We got on fantastically and from that day on our friendship began. Matt is also a professional photographer so naturally we got on like a house on fire and chatted rather way too much shop (..sorry Fiona). Alongside this Fiona had such a contagious personality I just knew they were going to be an awesome couple to photograph and believe me they didn’t disappoint.
Fiona likes to search for the best of everything and this included inviting Gemma Sutton to complete her bridal hair and make up. Gemma is an international and UK MUA who is highly regarded in her field and complete with her own makeup range she used a natural palette to create Fiona’s look to perfection.
As well as the beautiful details completing the rustic feel in the barn the other most memorable moments on the day for me personally were Fiona walking (or bravely charging) toward the church as she (& MYSELF) were pelted with giant hailstones like I havnt seen before…and yes it hurt!!
The best mans speech was hilarious and featured a few nervous moments for Matt and finally the effort that the pair put in for some great portraits – taking a short car journey to a beautiful field filled with white birch trees whilst changing from Louboutins to Wellies and climbing a wall and wading through nettles in the process to get the shots…
